Been Super Busy

I have been super busy since my last blog entry. We have had some wonderful weather...then the snow came....LOTS of it too! Just when I thought it was getting time to put away the winter boots and shovels.
I have made two stitcheries...one I want to do some chalking with it. I am also still working on a doll. I have also been spring cleaning in the house.
Today my youngest one and I will be colouring Easter eggs. He is looking forward to the time together.

Stitcheries

I made a new stitchery yesterday and I LOVE it! I just finished tea staining it this morning so I have to let it dry before I can post it in my website. I am not sure if I should sell my stitcheries framed or not framed??? I think not having them framed is great because people can buy their own frame that will match the decor in their home...plus it will really cut down the the shipping costs. Hmmmmm...or I can offer both options??? LOL! Well, in any case...I dont have a frame for this stitchery yet so it will be appearing unframed. If your really crafty you can also use it and make it into a pillow!

Making the stitchery was fun and relaxing I have to say. I have more I plan on making. My next stitchery project is a large one and requires chalking. I have never used chalk as a crafting medium before...so that will be fun to play with!

Under New Name!

WOW! Since December since I have posted anything in my blog. Me bad!

Well...if you haven't noticed already, I have changed my business name to Black Crow Primitives. No particular reason....just something I had been wanting to do for some time.
Black Crow Hollow was off line for a bit of time. The reason??? There are actually a lot of reasons, some personal, some due to this wonderful, ongoing recession, etc. I have reverted back to a smaller website where for now it is more economical. I also missed making and selling my handmade goods....another reason why I have decided to bring it back. Sadly, I have noticed that some of my favorite craft sites I like to visit must be feeling the pinch or just dont have the ambition right now to craft, to create. Alot of my fav websites have the same thing, nothing new being made. It's hard to feel inspired when the global economy is in this sort of situation.

I have lots of work to do in my craft room with making new items. I am currently working on a new doll and I will be releasing some stitcheries as well. I love doing stitcheries. I have some I made for my home hanging in my bedroom. They really add that homey touch.

I will try to remember to hop in here and post more of my craft room musings. Yesterday I actually moved my crafting area to another room in the house and reorganised all my fabrics and crafting materials. I even had to dust, literally, the sewing machine off!

Dusted off the Sewing Machine.....

I know, I know......its been awhile since I have made a new doll. UGH! This holiday season just seems to have crept up on me so fast! Since moving into our new house in the spring we have been doing alot of entertaining and we have a large gathering coming for Christmas. I have been busy decorating the house and planning the Christmas menu...along with the Christmas shopping. Tis the season to go broke right??? LOL!

Well, needless to say, I have dusted the sewing machine off and have been working on a new doll. She is almost finished....just have to put a few final touches on her...then brave the blistery cold to take outdoor pictures of her. Outdoor pictures of dolls are always best...they show off the true colours of the fabric, etc.

For all of you who keep checking the website in the hopes of seeing a new creation...please be a bit more patient. I promise to have her finished up soon.

Been A While

Well, whether you have noticed or not I have been missing in action for a bit of time. My treasured laptop died on me. The whole harddrive just went and died on me and I lost EVERYTHING. Family photos, graphics, patterns, business stuff...everything.
Last night I finally was able to pick it up and have the pain staking task of having to upload programs back on it. This will take some time.
This whole experience of loosing important data has kept me away from my sewing machine and my candle shop.
I hope to get back into the swing of things in the next week or so. Wish me luck!
